Meet Denise McCarthy

People like to ask, who is Rosie? Does the name honor the 1962 Jetsons robot from season one? In reality, our Rosie DNA is made up of many different people, from many different places. From the sunny hills of California to our furthest commuter in Russia, our team is built from a diverse range of talents that are all passionate about one thing: delivering delight.
Today, we sat down with Denise McCarthy, Head of Customer Support at Rosie. There is only one Denise at Rosie HQ, and she’s made a huge impact with customers, teammates, and retailers nationwide. We take a peek into a day-in-the-life of someone who ensures thousands of customers have the guidance they need to get groceries safely from the comfort of their home.
How long have you been a member of the Rosie family? How did your journey begin?
I’ve been with Rosie for 2.5 years. I had recently retired from a 30-year career with Verizon, and knew I was ready for the next challenge. At the time, Rosie was hiring for a Head of Support to manage their call center - it was a perfect fit after my journey at Verizon where I wore multiple hats: sales associate, marketer, team lead, and help desk supervisor.
Delivering delight. How do you make this tagline come to life in your daily work?
I like to think I deliver delight to several groups. My goal is to care for all customer/retailer issues in a timely and pleasant manner. Rosie has developed so many exciting new tools and it’s my job to ensure our team supports retailers and customers with any questions they may have.
Rosie is an ecommerce grocery platform that has made an everyday activity both safe and convenient. What Rosie feature are you most excited to share with your fellow shoppers? It’s hard to choose just one, so I’ll pick a big one! Our Rosie Control Panel is specifically designed so retailers have autonomy over their ecommerce program. It’s a powerful admin tool that facilitates independence: retailers can update their own products, complete refunds personally for customers, and design customized announcements for their shoppers.
You can literally buy anything from the Rosie platform. What are the top items in your Rosie cart? I have a household of primarily boys and men, so my cart is always full of three very important things: deodorant, on-the-go snacks, and energy beverages.
