Rosie Partners with NGA and Making Change to Bring Independent’s Day of Giving Online with Eight Retail Partners

Ithaca, NY (June 21, 2017) – Rosie partnered with the National Grocers Association (NGA), Making Change and ROFDA to implement Independent’s Day of Giving with 8 different retail banners in 28 locations. Independent’s Day of Giving is a campaign that brings together independent grocers and wholesalers across the nation to join together to help end hunger by supporting Feeding America® and local hunger-relief organizations. The campaign ran through the month of June with the “Day of Giving” being highlighted on June 21.

“This program has been one of collaboration since NGA, ROFDA, and Feeding America came together to create the Independent’s Day of Giving,” said Dave McConnell, President and CEO of Making Change. “A wonderful extension of this giving opportunity has been driven by eCommerce provider, Rosie and eight of its retail partners, who are extending the opportunity for customers to support their local communities through online donations.”

The independent retailers that chose to join the campaign are Davis Food & Drug, Macey’s, Fresh Market, Lin’s Marketplace, Buehler’s Fresh Foods, Gooseberries, and Dash’s Market. During the month of June, these retailers turned their grocery eCommerce site into a charitable act by activating $1, $3, and $5 donations on their eCommerce site. All donations collected will be given back to hunger-relief organizations located within the zip code that the donation was received in.

Rosie Marketing Services helped to highlight the campaign on each retailer’s eCommerce site with a pop-up that appeared each time a customer visited the site. The pop-up allowed customers to learn more about the campaign, the various groups the campaign would benefit, and how to add a donation to their cart. Rosie Marketing Services also sent an email campaign on June 21 to over 30,000 recipients with information about the campaign and a strong call-to-action to donate.
